I have this HUGE problem on my MainMAC (runningLION server).....lately, when I need to use Together I get a message stating that it appears the Library is being used elsewhere and so problems/corruption will likely ensue.....have no idea what to do about that. I elect to Continue - Together crashes..... I REALLY need it. I have become so dependent upon it - I can't feature the idea of moving everything over to another app - even if I could find one as good - HELP!!!!
I seem to be experiencing the same issue. After the warning about the fact that the library may be in use, I elect to continue, and Together simply hangs. I left it running for about five hours today, but the application continued hanging. I am running Lion. I also downloaded and installed the latest version of Together, but the behavior is unchanged.
I could not find a description of the resolution -- would you be able to forward it, when you have time?
Please could you take a sample using the Activity Monitor when the app is hanging and I can see what's going on.
- Open the Activity Monitor from the /Applications/Utilities folder - Select Together in the list of processes and click Sample - Save the sample as a file and send it to support@reinventedsoftware.com
Also, please could you send Together's log files so I can check for any messages. To find these, go to the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu and paste the following without the quotes "~/Library/Application Support/Together/Logs" then click Go.
Thank you for responding so quickly. In the meantime I happened to try something that seems to have worked:
- Force-quit the app; - Re-name the "Documents" folder in Together's library; - Launch Together. It does not hang, and creates a new "Documents" folder; - Quit together; - Delete the new Documents folder, and name the old one back as "Documents"; - Launch together; it hangs. Force-quit it, launch it again. It now seems to run fine . I've quit it and re-launched it many times.
All the .log files in the folder you indicated turned out to be empty.
Thanks again for your response -- I will send you a sample of the activity monitor if the problem re-occurs.
